ACTIVATE! Change Drivers is a national youth network centred on the power of youth-led collective action to realise transformative change. It is widely acknowledged that an empowered youth is the cornerstone of a thriving community and society.

Our Activators embody the essence of driving change, transcending obstacles, and discovering innovative solutions. They epitomize the boundless creativity and dynamism of young individuals, serving as the driving force behind the passion that fuels this network.

The winners of this year’s ACTIVATE! Active Citizen Award (class of 2023) have truly embodied the values we hold dear. This is demonstrated through their incredible and impactful work. They have become shining examples of what it means to be a young leader and community builder. They have dedicated their time, skills and resources to drive positive change in their communities and society as a whole.

As we approached our 10th year anniversary in 2022, we introduced these awards to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of young individuals who have dedicated themselves to building their communities. Despite facing their own challenges, these remarkable individuals have gone above and beyond, extending a helping hand to those in need. Unfortunately, their efforts often go unnoticed and unappreciated. That is why we are thrilled to continue celebrating our 11th year anniversary with the continuation of these awards.

With over 100 nominations and inspiring stories of organizations making a difference, it was undoubtedly a difficult task to select the 10 winners. However, rest assured that the selection process was fair and just, guided by a specific set of criteria and overseen by three appointed board members.

ACTIVATE! Takes great pride in celebrating the winners featured in this booklet. We encourage you to get to know them, see the impact they have made, support their endeavours, and sing their names in recognition of their outstanding work. With each youth and each community we reach, we are one step closer to realizing our mission.
