Lufefe Nomjana is known to his community as ‘The Spinach King’ or ‘Popeye’.

Self-starter, Lufefe’s company, Espinaca (Spanish word for spinach) Innovations, started a health revolution in Cape Town’s townships by introducing spinach as an ingredient in bread and various foods.

What started with R40 and a big idea in 2011, has now become a successful and internationally recognized social enterprise, Health Foods Café & Bakery, based at the KTC Mall in Khayelitsha. By partnering with Virgin Active, Lufefe continues to educate his community on the importance of healthy eating and healthy lifestyles.
