Contribution:

As a social worker, Lezel brings a legal perspective on interventions and how this can affect activism (especially in a Gender-Based Violence context). Lezel has also rendered social and human resource services to various organisations in collaboration with other social services professionals. This aids her to have a perspective on the limitations and benefits of employment in employees’ activism and what this means for them holistically. Moreover, having had done work around mental health and reintegration of mental health care users into society, her perspective is valuable in terms of the effects of various life experiences and the reality of mental health issues around various forms of activism.
