On the 25th of August, we will be celebrating the over 60 years since over 20 000 women of all races and backgrounds, came together to march against the injustices that women were facing in that lifetime. Even though the leaders of that generation made their mark in history, we women of today are still facing our own struggles. Today, women of South Africa face terrifying statistics of gender-based violence. During this dialogue, want to discuss why this phenomenon is still taking place in our communities. We will have an intergenerational discussion to do an introspection on the role we as women play in contributing to a patriarchal society and to gender-based violence.
We also will be celebrating the everyday women who go unrecognized, who are working every day to rebuild South Africa. And to sign a pledge that we will continue the discussions and sisterhoods support circles in our communities to provide safe spaces where we women of all ages can empower themselves so that we can reach our best potentials.
Join us for a day filled with heated dialogue and a braining storming session where we will look at solutions that will ensure that we do not pass on the curse of Gender-Based Violence to our next department. And a beautiful celebration ceremony where will be recognizing and encouraging women to continue the work we do in our communities that will build the country.
